I can't believe this is the only picture I have of that trip! Building the tent frame next to the MRC-80 pad (see story below). In foreground was a Outside Plant troop who we decided was our "Average Butt" (I think his name was Logan) and used him to outline the hole for the latrine. We wanted it big enough to work for everyone, but not so big someone with a small ass would fall through. I also think Bob Olds might be one of the unknowns in the picture.

On the CD I just sent, in the index to one of the pictures, you will find the phrase "Average Butt" (this will make sense when you get theCD!) For some reason, I was thinking about that picture today in the supermarket, and I believe AB's last name is Logan. He was in Outside Plant, and was a SSgt, I think. Not real tall, and one of those people that is always smiling and laughing. I also think Bob Olds might be one of the unknowns in the picture.

This is A TRN(mobile Tacan) which was situated on top of Vung Chau Mountain which over looks Quion City .This was my first trip to Vietnam. It was early fall of 1966.Vung Chau Mountain, Vietnam - Early fall of 1966
Picture contributed by J. P. Skinner
The nearest USAF Communtications Sqd was located at Quion city Air Base and this facility was transfered from the First Mob to it after it was Flight Checked.. Perimiter security was provided by the South Korea White Horse Division. At the bottom of the mountain on one side was Quion City and on the other was Highway One. I think that I remember MSgt Lions and Sgt Harris being there. If any one
reading this and remembers me would appreciate hearing from you.
